March Is Almost Over

It's been rather a long time since I wrote a blog post and it occurs to me that I don't like the concept of self promotion- which is what a blog is all about. I think a lot of artists are like this- we would rather work on our art and leave the promoting in other people's hands...I guess that's why a lot of artists find an agent. But I'm a photographer as well which complicates things - for me at any rate. As a photographer I must promote for commercial purposes even while I enjoy capturing 'beauty' in landscapes, heritage buildings, portraits and the like and really have no problems with saying to the world at large 'here I am and this is what I do'.
The thing is, I am getting known in Merritt as an artist and have been displaying my works publicly... anonymity and self promotion are on opposite ends of the conceptual spectrum.
I was going to say more- a bit about some work that has recently sold and a bit about my husband's turkey hunting seminar- which was quite a successful and interesting talk here in Merritt but this blogger software has won't let me add anymore pictures- I have no idea what's going on now.

It is an interesting thing about self promotion. I struggle with that too. I'm always ready to promote others, but have a tougher time promoting myself. It feels too much like bragging or something.
